Long life / damage in buildings

Présentation des gammes

Failure to respect professional rules, standards, DTUs, ATECs has a price. Many initiatives have been taken to reduce this non-quality, because of the economic stakes.

Long life, damage in buildings

Elementary precautions to be taken:
- Use products conforming with standards.
- Respect technical recommendations and usage limits.
- Respect recommendations given by the main contractor and the technical inspector.
- Check that the work done corresponds to the defined activities.

The best way of limiting the risk of damage is to set up a quality approach.  By applying prevention and inspection to the different causes of damage at the different phases of the construction.  Prevention of damage also involves respecting standard practice.

The SYCODES observatory analyzes 15 000 events per year, and creates an accurate image of claims declared to construction insurance companies.

The main listed causes of events are as follows:

Non-quality in construction is estimated at 7 billion Euros per year.  Firstly, this includes events that occur after construction and require work by an After-Sales Service, a declaration to an insurance company or a dispute.  It also includes all problems that arise during construction on sites;  lost time, repairs to bad workmanship, work accidents, etc.  Many initiatives have been taken to reduce this non-quality due to the economic stakes.

The quality approach is gradually becoming inescapable.

GIRPI’s daily approach includes marketing of high performance products and special tools to assure good construction of installations.

Industrial quality of GIRPI products:
- Confirmed ISO procedures:  ISO 9001 vs 2000 holders
- Quality marks:  NFE, NFM1, NFP, CSTBat, Veritas, KIWA, WRC, AENOR...
- Environmental procedures:  ISO 14001 holders
- Respect the quality of water transported through pipes:  ACS
- Respect of the most recent HTA : Bs1d0 regulations (LNE) in force
